Dumb Question of the Day

SO...i got xenon lights in my car (they're OEM) therefore i don't need an HID kit to get brighter bulbs because the car already has xenon lights...correct?? i can simply just move up to a bulb with a higher kelvin temp then.

higher kelvin does not equal to higher brightness.... it starts to drop after 4300k.

it is as easy as just switching bulbs, i went from stock 4300 to 5000, and it's a world of a difference...looks like a solid clean white now

4500-5500k is what natural sunlight is....and what our eyes are adapted to see best in. Any higher than that and you start to not be able to see as well. Drive a car with 10-12k in the rain and you'll swear your lights aren't even on yet plenty of guys will claim they are "brighter" lights.

Stock is 4300k, usually 5-6k gives a nice clean white light with very little loss of actual brightness. I did notice my 6k bulbs were a little dimmer for me on dark roads, but I live in a city so it's tolerable.

im using these http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=126 ...they are d2s which are very similar to our stock d2r, you just have to make a notch on each bulb to get it to fall into place correctly

D2S bulbs also do not have the top of the bulb painted to shield from excess glare above the cutoff line.

I got mine from http://www.ddmtuning.com/ They had D2R's
