I have a set of DDM tuning 55W 6k lights from my bmw that I would like to install in my G35. I want to know what kind of adapter I need to install these before I take my lights out. I want a plug and play harness, I am not sure what my bulb is, ie D2R or D2S. I know the G35 is a D2R bulb. BTW I have oem 35w hid's as of now

I cant find any info on this site about a 55W hid upgrade

From my understanding, if you want to put on 50-55W HID Kit then you will need to do some modification on your headlights to be able to make it work.

For you stock 35w HID, you can just buy any replacement bulb from any vendor to replace it directly.

03-05 Headlight = D2R
06-07 Headlight = D2S

I do know the reflector style 03-05 needs the D2R. But I was wondering how people install the 55W ballast. I saw a member post here earlier so I am going to go that route but with a proper harness and 55W 6000K KID bulbs, then when I upgrade to 06 projectors I will change bulbs to D2S

 

Well with 06-07 projector, you will need to do some wire modification again for sure.
