Both reverse lights are out!!!

2003 G35 Sedan 6MT

I figured the bulbs were out, and thats not the case so I started to look for a fuse. All I Found after some research was that there is supposed to be a rev light relay by the battery and when I go there to check the relay. It is MIA, no relay, no terminal for a relay, nothing, just a blank space. What happened here? I will try and upload a photo. Is there somewhere else I might find a actual fuse, not just a relay. Thanks guys. I did a search and I find more things for sale and topics about superchargers then I do about the reverse light.

Mike

Did you figure anything else out both my reverse light went out and the bulbs are new. Did you replace that switch? Did it work?

reverse lights

Guys,

This issue may be a short somewhere.

First my trunk light went out, bulb is fine.

Then the reverse lights went out.

Now I have the SLIP, VDC and ABS light on the whole time.

When the weather warms up I will try to troubleshoot this issue,

But if anyone has some ideas and news , please let me know.

Had the problem checked out. Tech traced the wires and found out where the wire harness connect from the truck to the body of the car was actually cut/broken under the wire loom. I was thankful my mech found it so easily and free of charge. Thanks for the replies.

Can you tell us where exactly the wires connect (trunk and body)

Finally figured it out and fixed it. Had to cut apart the rubber grommet between the cars body and the trunk lid. Two pairs of wires were completely cut, and a third one was just about to go, too..

Yes, thank you.

At first I couldn't find any problems. but then I decided to cut apart the rubber thing. I don't know how the wires got cut inside... very strange, but it's working now.

What a great place this is! I had the same problem on my 05 G35X. I removed the grommet and split the rubber sheath back about 2 inches from the trunk end and found the broken wire. This is by far the best G35 forum, thanks again guys!

Hey guys i was installing a backup camera and tapped into the reverse lights but it wouldn't work, so i checked and noticed the reverse lights were not working either(everything else was working fine) so i pulled everything out of the trunk, took out the grommet but the wires were still intact.

Anyone what?

It isnt missing. 6mts dont use a reverse relay, it gets feed directly from transmission. Only 5Ats have a reverse relay.

Refer to electrical service manual.
