clearance strip tint

clearance strip tint
i was just wondering if anyone had ever tried tinting the front clear plastic cover that goes over the clearance strip. i recently painted my housings black and now the strips look awfully yellow. ive heard they are near impossible to make clean again. if anyone has any input or pictures that would be greatly appreciated.

i jus painted mine black and left the about and 1.5" of it clear up top. fk dealing with it lol
