Signal lights

Still waiting for my 03.5 G and it's such a pain!
Hey i was wondering, can you change the signal light bulb to superwhite or something in the headlight unit? Are they using orange light bulb to make it orange or the whole casing is orange???

Re: Signal lights

The turn signal has an orange plastic covering on it so i think you will need to change the cover if you want to put in superwhite bulbs. As for the fog light/low beam, that is a simple swapout for an HB3 so you can put superwhites there. I think that the new Xtreme whites look better tho with the HID since they are closer in color.

Re: Signal lights

I'm not sure about in the US, but in Canada, though the manual says HB3, it's really an HB2 (9003 or H4), so check this out if you want to change the fog/low bulb. I'm currently trying to source the Sylvania 'Silver Stars' for myself as I've been told that they're more reliable and cheaper than the PIAAs.

Pearl White/Graphite, loaded except Aero & Navigation

Re: Signal lights

I usually know bulb codes, but is 9003 the same as H4? Ah, i'll find out at my friend's shop. Yea, the signal has an amber cover. The only way to take that out would be to take apart the headlight and unclip that amber cover out. Then you would have to re-seal the casing back to the light. Tough work and don't forget about the HIDs. I personally wouldn't do it, but I helped my friend do JDM style headlights on his RSX Type S. He wanted to keep the amber reflectors to make it more like the Type R as opposed to a "ricer" style =)

Re: Signal lights

Hey gordgee, are those sylvania silver stars the same color as the PIAA Xtreme Whites. I think the light temp on the PIAAs are 4150K which is pretty close to the 4300K of stage 1 HIDs. Which brings up a good question...Are the HIDs on the G35 4300K or 6000K? They look a little purplish but Im not sure. I had PIAA Xtreme White 9004s in my old Xterra and they looked pretty good but if you have pics of the light output of the Sylvanias maybe thats the way to go. PIAAs are definitely expensive tho.

You should get some clear corners and keep the amber bulbs. Safety first.
