anyone done this? pics?

considering doing it on my DG coupe. Mine starts out white but fades to yellow and looks ugly (especially with my white led bulb in there). Im considering painting it white or grey (to match the DG). How will this affect the light output of the led in there?

obviously in the pic its not a painted clearance strip, but what would i need to acheive this look? or anyone thats painted their strip got any pics? thanks

Yea, Ima get a can of duplicolor silver and do it. Should be a pretty close match to DG. WIll post results whenever i do it.

 

Went ahead and did it today. Came out pretty good and clean! Much better than the yellowing/dull one.
Was debating to either paint the clearance strip itself, or paint the glass that goes over the strip (meaning it would look like the pic I put up in the OP, or it would look like a textured strip. went with the latter). Looks pretty close to my car color too.




except now the led in my strip only lights it up 3 inches and comes to a complete stop lol o well

 

Instead of paint in the strip are you able to put vinyl in amber color?
I don't want to have it clear I want to match the amber turn signal
Is this possible ?
