Hey there,

My local "parts guy" is saying that to replace the 3rd brake light - LED strip - on my 04 sedan (with spoiler...), that I need to replace the entire spoiler!

That sounds ludicrous. But, I haven't been able to find any other info to the contrary, despite searching.

Can anyone enlighten me?

lol that seems extreme for some leds!

 

Dosent the light itself have two screws so you can take it out? If so you can get one from a wercker or the dealership.

 

Im not sure on the sedan but on the coupe you need to remove the whole spoiler which can be a major hassle . We can replace the LEDs for you if you get it out though .

 

i have a similar issue. the cover for my light in my spoiler has broken. Can anyone help me out? The lights still work.

 

Just bought a 2006 and the spoiler light is broken and GONE. I need a new light bar as well. My spoiler condition is fine and I was wondering if anyone knew which ebay link would be sufficient to replace my stock 06 3rd brake light.

I too had the same thing! So I just had my body shop fill in the hole that was left by the brake light...lol. We already have a 3rd brake light at the bottom of our rear window.

To answer the above question, idk...sorry. But I'm sure there's some sort of aftermarket DIY mod you could to wire an LED strip down through the trunk and up to your fuse box. But that wouldn't look stock, at all...
