HELP! Need people who have painted headlights!

i was taking off my headlights to paint them and replace the bulbs and was following https://g35driver.com/forums/lightin...ple-steps.html
im on step three and the part before you put the headlights in the oven!
i need help removing the headlight housing from the harness. it doesn't wanna unplug!
btw, it is an 2005 coupe.

I didn't feel right putting the headlights in the oven so I just used a hair dryer works just the same just takes a while longer

use flat head screw driver to push the tab down and turn the screwdriver so it pushes the harness out

?? I wonder how that worked. After baking mine, it still wouldn't come apart. Took like 3 parts of baking to get it all off.

heat gun works the best. they're only like 22 bucks from lowes. be careful with the heat gun, if you put it on high, or put it too close to the housing, you'll melt it. It can happen VERY quickly too.

^i had to use a heatgun cus the oven was broken. it was a total biatch. i dont recommend it

I use the heat gun all the time for retrofits now. Once you get the technique down of NOT melting your lights.. its much much faster and easier.
