My current retrofit project. 04 Coupe

I have been working on these in between my customer's retrofits and i'm in the home stretch (FINALLY) Had the car completely repainted back to the Beautiful Twilight Blue, and while it was at the body shop, I had them paint the housings as well.

Here is the car

Housings prior to painting
Tinted the side lens

Before and after tint

Test mounted the Mini D2S projectors

Painted

I'm doing a recessed Halo LED ring instead of the typical Halo ring on the outside of the shroud. I have a couple different shrouds here I'm test fitting to see which ones I like the look of the best. The Coupe lights are smaller than the sedans, so i'm limited on what shrouds can fit in there cleanly.

The LEDs look blue, but they are actually just REALLLLLYYYYY bright white. I also have a set of CCFL halo rings and red LED rings that I'm going to play with to see what looks the best.

Mounted the white LED ring last night. Depending on the end result, I may change it before final assembly.

Nice - Looks good. What colour was your G before? I have a silver one and am seriously considering painting mine black. But the blue looks awesome. Getting my headlights done tomorrow as well so pumped for that.

It was always twilight blue, but it had some body damage and paint was showing it's age. Figured while doing the body work, might as well repaint the whole car. Now it needs to be detailed and buffed

I'm going to refinish the lens that has scratches. I've done it before on other lights. most of what you see though in the pic is just dust on the lens. I'm hoping to aim the projectors this weekend, so i can finish putting them back together

With the mini d2 projectors did you have to do any cutting or mounting? Or did it fit right in and screw from the back??

It fits right in, but it does require some grinding to remove some excess plastic for it to sit flush. I have to get some belt sander paper this weekend so I can finish it.

Hoping to have them aimed tomorrow and possibly have the shrouds installed. Been way too busy lately

which cover piece are you referring to? The Projectors themselves don't come with the shrouds if that is what you are talking about.

Yes. Was it hard to retrofit the housing ? I'm debating on doing this a well and want to know as much as I can before I start. If its a complicated build I'll out source it to Brian at sickhids.com for something more custom.

I've done a few retrofits, so for the most part this wasn't difficult for me. The part that sucked was finding the right shrouds to fit the coupe headlights. Right now I'm painting the shrouds and going to get them aimed either tonight our tomorrow morning. Hopefully will be installed tomorrow.

Can you pm me a list of the items you used so I have an idea of what I'm looking for when it come to getting the items that fit out head lights properly ? Was it hard to install the halo leds around the top shroud ? Is there away to set up a demon eye as well ?
