Brighter Headlights?
#16
In case anyone looks at this for more information and bulb sizes, etc. There have been numerous tests on hidplanet and the places that have measured the light output of every popular branded D2R/D2S bulb. It's been proven Philips and Osram are superior to Morimoto bulbs in every way. Philips and Osram 4300 and 5000k bulbs have better centered hotspots where they are supposed to be along with a much shorter break in time. Morimoto says 100 hours for there true color to shine. My research shows daylight is 5250K on the color scale and that would be pure pure white.

just trying to find out if Sylvania is still the best
I've done a bunch of reading, I have the 2006 G35 coupe it has projector headlights , it calls for the D2SSZ on AutoZone... I am looking for the best possible vision from the driver's seat not looking for the blue or purple to be fancy I just want to be able to see better with my 47-year-old eyes and want to get the brightest bulb I can get. So my question is is that the best bulb for our car or if there's a better one, please tell me and a better price than $129 per bulb possibly? I appreciate any help in advance thank you... And I'm guessing I should probably replace the rest of the bulbs in the headlights as they are such a pain to get to but I'm thinking the LEDs can probably be left alone?

amount of light. If u dont want bluish looking or yellowish looking lights, I would suggest going with a color temp of 5000K. That will give u white light without any blue in it.
Here, I found these on Amazon. Get em and save yourself a bunch of money.

I'm 42 and do a lot of early morning nighttime driving, I use those Sylvania Silverstar D2S zXe (edit: this is probably what they were selling you, make sure it's zXe and not the regular silverstars though) lamps, they're a 5000k lamp and look fantastic. Not blue at all for oncoming drivers, just a very very very white light.
And I'm also in a 2006 coupe, you won't be disappointed. Just make sure if you're installing them yourself DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS, I prefer to keep them wrapped in toilet paper or paper towel. You don't want to get the oil from your skin on the glass, union wireman advice.
As for replacing the other lamps, personally I wouldn't bother until one burned out, it's not that hard to take off the wheels and the wheel well liners. Nothing wrong with doing them preventatively though, it's just money.
