I Hate My HIDs

I have an 05 G35 Coupe and have had nothing but problems with my HIDs - is it possible to convert my headlights completely to LED's and get rid of the HID's and if so how big of a pain in the *** is it to do....have already changed Hi-beam and Fogs to LED's

according to my search a pretty common issue.... passenger headlight goes off, turn lights off and on and it comes right back on...
have tried all the trouble shooting that was recommended to no avail... so basically I'm just frustrated with it and I like the LEDs better anyways...

Oh ok, I've never encountered that issue and I've ran hids in my Retrofit for quite some time. As far as leds don't believe there is a plug and play option. You may have to do some digging to find a setup suitable for the g

yep I need to find someone in Kansas City area to rewire everything, so far not an economically viable option...

My very best advice when it comes to first gen headlights, keep watching our Marketplace for a set of '06+ projectors! Believe me when I tell you how much you'll love 'em!

This almost always means the ballast is shot. What troubleshooting steps have you performed?

LED's aren't great replacements in HID application. Lots of "LED GURUS' " will say they are the best thing since sliced bread.. but they aren't. Swap ballasts side to side and see if the problem follows the ballasts.

put in new headlights and switched ballast to the other side... yep as I thought it's the ballast... the reason I like LEDs better is because I don't have to deal with a friggin ballast going bad...

When it gets there I'm lol about switching to Led. The other big lie with LED is that it's more efficient. It still has to pull a ton of current to light the road. They are great for DRL's and blinkers though for now.

The only advantage an LED has is longevity.
