Getting only 6 volts to trunk light?
Getting only 6 volts to trunk light?
So today I decided to replace the light bulb inside the trunk since it has been inoperative for a while now. I popped out the old LED bulb and put in a new one and it still didnt light up. Took the bulb out and flipped it around and still nothing.
So I grab my multimeter and check the voltage at the terminals and Im only getting 6 volts. I even tried turning the key and my lights on but its still only 6V. What the hell? Is this a BCM issue or what?

Just updating with fix:
Turns out one of my ground wires was broken inside the rubber flex conduit that connects to the trunk lid. I repaired it and now I have 12v at my trunk light.

Glad you found the issue! I literally was reading the first post and getting ready to say check your ground lol. Nice to get little things like that fixed. Glad you didn’t just neglect it and not fix it like 98% of people would do.
I cant stand when something on my car doesnt work. I gotta have everything working or itll bother me.
