My question: how do you get them to stay unlit while changing them, other than by disconnecting the battery?

That's a good question. I just pulled every f^%$# fuse and none shut those damn lights off. %$^%$#$% Yes I even checked in the batt compartment. nada. They're combined with something else, or there's another fuse block. I didn't see any fuses for interior lights. Wonder where they're hiding?

Weird. Infiniti must hold good, 5 watt egress lighting in mighty high esteem.
Maybe it's easier just to fool the car into thinking the door is closed?

I stuck in the raybrig hyperwhite bulbs to match the map lights. You don't have to disconnect the battery. Just use a skinny flathead to pry it off and simply use a old t-shirt so you don't get burned. Then just make sure pop it in w/o touching the glass, and push it in w/ the t-shirt. Just like changing a light bulb in the house.....no big deal.....good luck.

Yeah, I'd think you could just hold in the door pin-switch with a pair of locking pliers or something...Somebody showed how to do it on a post about window tinting, because he had to fool the door into thinking it was closed so he could tint the very bottom part of the window.

Or disconnect the battery and use the instructions in your owner's manual about how to carefully open the door with the battery dead.

Re: under the door lights
Just use a tshirt and a flathead like I did and you don't have to worry about disconnecting anything...... really not that complicated guys....
