For HID guru's... I need help.
For HID guru's... I need help.
Just got my G35 and i noticed that the headlights aren't as bright as what i've been used too.. example, s2k, bmw, mercedes.. the G's just seem weaker, maybe it's because it dosn't have projectors?
i was curious, can I upgrade the bulb and get more visibility? I was thinking about 6000k, but i've heard it will look nice but reduce visibility right?
I know most of you are thinkin', who cares; i do, because where i live, i have to travel through the country with no street lamps.
any help with be appriciated.

lol i don't usually say this...but search
It's because I wrote a fat thread a while back on HID's.
In a nutshell, 4300 is as bright as it gets. As you go higher, the lumens go down but Kevlin scale goes up. All this means is purple-->blue and dimmer and dimmer. If you are looking for a brighter setup, I recommend retrofitting a X5 projector into the housing like people have been doing...but you're in luck! 06 G35's come with projector lights so just swap over the new headlight when it's avalible.
In the mean time...just drive with your beams on where there is no lighting
