Clear Corners from strictlyz

I havent seen anybody post this. I got a call from a guy from strictlyz today saying they have the clear corners in now. I am not sure if they have extras or just filling up orders they had to cancel previously.

I went to their store in San Jose to pick up my lights a few weeks ago. I didn't preorder them. when i went there, I did see many boxes of lights waiting to be picked up by USPS. They do have extras since I was able to get a set from them!
I like them because they have connections from Japan, and they go to Japan very frequent to pick up new stuff... so far, my experience with them has been great!

They send me the coupe ones too. I sent them back right away and finally, 10 days later (two days ago and ignoring all my emails during this time), I got the correct ones.

Re: Clear Corners from strictlyz

I was disappointed in dealing with Strictly Z. I purchased the aluminum pedal kit from them (in June). I was told on the phone it included all parts. When I received the kit, it did not have the gas pedal clip. When I called them they said they can't get the part & to cut the clip off of the old gas pedal. Kits sold by Grubbs Infiniti includes this extra part and is only a few $ more.
I did not want to cut up my old gas pedal so I called Infiniti and Nissan Dealers to find the part. Luckly I found one( out of about 10 calls) that had it.
After I did the install I was glad I bought the new clip because the one on my old gas pedal was not in great shape after unhooking it from the car.
Anyway, having to chase down the extra part was an inconvenience I didn't need. A kit should include all parts to complete the job.

Re: Clear Corners from strictlyz

Called me as well, I told them I ordered directly from Japanparts.com and got it in 4 days! LOL They asked me how much I paid. Asked me if I wanted the pedals........I said no thanks, I ordered from Grubbs and Got the Clip with it. They apologized for the inconvience, and said they hoped I would consider them again.........said I thought they needed more refinement on customer service and follow through.......but thanks anyways.

Re: Clear Corners from strictlyz

I had them on back-order for a long time when they were having all the shortage issues. The day after they officially cancelled my order, I got a call saying that they were in. They sent me my corners the other day, and also included a little red G35 pull-back car for my wait. Works for me. They couldn't get the parts in, which is why a lot of people were having problems. I mean, very few people managed to get any clears between April-June. They were on E-bay for over $100. I'll do business with them again. I'm sure if there wasn't a shortage, the wait wouldn't have been as long, and the little mini-car was a nice gesture IMO. Just my experience...

I don't blame them for the backorder (which I waited 2 months). And It didn't really bug me to much that they messed up my order and sent me the coupe's lenses instead of the sedan.. What bugs me is that I sent the coupes lenses back to them 2 weeks ago and I have yet to receive my sedan lenses !!!! I'll be pissed if they ran out of sedan lenses and i'll have to wait another couple months for a new order.

Re: Clear Corners from strictlyz

I ordered both the clear corners and pedals from strictlyz on Thursday and had them on Monday.

Everything went well except I have to cut the clip off my old pedal to put on my new pedal. Does anyone know if this works alright?

Yes, the clip works fine off the stock gas pedal. I've had my pedals with that clip and electrical tape instead of the bushing for 5 months with no problems. Just take your time unclipping the old clip, because it'll be hard to put on if you tear it up. A wide, flat screwdriver works wonders for the whole install. And to re-clip it, use some big pliers. Be sure to put a towel on top of the pedal so you don't scratch it w/ the pliers.

Re: Clear Corners from strictlyz

Got the clear corners in the mail yesterday, install was a snap. I must say it looks much better with them. I also got the drilled aluminum pedals a while back from them, install was very easy also, about 20 min, taking it slow. Verry happy with both products.

Re: Clear Corners from strictlyz

I have picked up all my parts from them in San Jose and Yuichi has used my car as a tester for clears and the pedals. Here's a side that some people don't know-have any of you thought about who runs this site. Keep it in mind-the answers are out there. I have not had any problems but I will say that Grubbs has been rude twice regarding the R Spec stuff,so they aren't perfect.

Re: Clear Corners from strictlyz

All,

I too ordered clears and pedals from StrictlyZ. I got my order quickly, about a week and a half, and I got the coupe corners for my sedan instead of the Sedan ones. I called Yiuchi right away and he realized their error. I sent back the coupe ones and got my Sedan one's about a week later. It really wasn't that bad.

For the pedals without a clip, Z's price is about $10.00 less than Grubbs, perhaps because there's no clip. The pedal had the bushing so that was a non-issue. I removed the retainer from the stock pedal with an Xacto knife and it took like a minute. I had to trim some flashing from it to get it to fit the aluminum and that took about a minute too. Then I pushed the retainer on the aluminum pedal with my bare hand no problem. No pliar or towel needed. If you look at the way it fit's its like a compression clip. Easy to get on but a little tougher to remove. a flat-head screw driver took the stock one off in about 2 seconds though. Look at the back of by getting real far down in the wheel well and you'll see how it fits. Get the flat-head in the right place and turn it and pop - it's out.

StrictlyZ is cool, Yiuchi is cool and the little car they sent is cool too, except that I asked for G35driver stickers and they sent me the car. If that's my only complaint, then it's not so bad!

Yiuch, when you going to put the G35Driver stickers on the web site so I can order them with my stinkin credit card?? I won't use paypal pal!
