Actually that seems cheap because I think the 03-05's are about 800 each. How can that that be? I figured the projectors would be much more! Not saying that 1425 isn't alot money, but I figured based on the 03-05 headlight cost, the 06's would be like 2K for the pair! Now if there is a way to buy only the projector, I would be a happy camper because I am kind of attached to the clearence strip! LOL

I think I will stick to my $300 retrofit. However, those Bixenon modules look to be real nice! $1420 nice? I am not so sure. Not only that it will NOT be plug and play. You will have to make alterations to your headlight harness for it to work.

Are you going to offer up your services for others who want to retrofit projectors? I was looking into this as well as painting inside my headlights.

Let us know!!!

$1420 for two? That sounds like it's just the housings, like Drew said 03-05 were $800 each.

$1420 that is a great price if that includes everything that you need. I will be all over it.

Coup,
I will be more than happy to assist NJ/NY members to do the project. I don't think I will retro for money though. It just takes WAY to much time. By the time you factor hours of labor it will probably cost more than it is worth. I plan on doing a very detailed DIY similar to my LED clear corner writeup.

Pete, you know I respect your opinion in every way but the 350Z bixenon's are a complete plug and play for the earlier versions with xenons.. I think the G35 will be the exact same.

Tony,
Like I have mentioned before I just do not see how that is possible. Our current headlamp system relies on a fual filament halogen H4 headlight as our fog/highbeam. The new bixenons use one HID bulb with a shield which actuates and rotates when the high beam is activated. This directs light higher up. Completely different methods of highbeam lighting.

Hey, but who knows until someone tries. Who would like to be the first one to buy these nice new headlights

You could be right.. I just thought about the differences in the two and it may not be plug and play considering the high beams work with the fog lights and not the low beams.

I'd assume it should still be plug and play even if the bulb configuration is different. The harness just sends signals as to when high-beam needs to be on and such. I'm sure the wiring on the other end (the housing end) has been modified to do the necessary tasks as rotating the shield for high-beams. The only concern I would have is the flash to pass feature. The feature where you pull on the signal stick to flash your high beams. If that runs off of a single high beam wire, then when your headlights are off, it'll flicker your HIDs on and off. I believe in the new housing, there is an additional bulb installed in the fog light reflector for just this feature. I'm not entirely sure how the older models handled turning high-beams always on (pushing on the signal stick) and just flashing the high-beams (pulling on the signal stick).

I don't know... I thought based on previous experience with how the headlights are wired up, (gotta read my service manual again), that the lights aren't actually directly connected to the harness. I thought the Body Control Computer actually controls what happens. I thought the headlight housing just receives input if you want Hi, Low, or Fog, and then determines which bulbs light up.

I could be wrong, but that's what I thought. I think that's how Acura does it.

Edit: Ooops, sorry. Didn't realize somebody beat me to it......
