I cant believe you charge so little for a project like this. That is insane. I already have 30+ hrs invested in my headlights and im not done yet!

Pete, it's actually easier with the E46 projectors, since you don't have to hack up the back of the headlight. But I know that the TSX's do give better output, and I'm planning on picking a pair up tomorrow from someone for my own lights.

The first time I did my retrofit, it took about 20 hours. My back was killing me, because I did everything in one sitting. Without a dremel, this is a nearly impossible job.

Now that I have extra headlights, I can take my time, and do this for fun in the evenings after work.

But I'm not doing this for the money. That's why I really push for people to just do it themselves, and I've also suggested that people post on hidforum asking for retrofitters in their area.

I plan on installing these yellow lights on Thursday.

sounds good.. cant wait to see them on a G.. btw you're making these for a NSX yellow G? O.o pic of the G please =D lol

But yeah I dont have any plans yet.. I want to do the retro fits got a few diagrams n doing a little researching on where I can get the parts.. But yeah the e46 projectors will fit both high and low beams correct? or what would you suggest? i want to go with the BMW projectors or at least the rings that says "xenon" on them =P.. Really wana do this but i cant afford the down time, the Gs my only car.

You think I can make Bi-Xenon High beams/Low beams on both low/fog light area?

Search in the Socal forum for pics of the yellow G. Or, wait until Thursday and I'll take pics of everything installed. Basically all the internal work is done. I just need to open up his headlights, and swap the bezel and light units in there, and close everything back up.

You'll have no problem fitting a bixenon in the fog/high section. You'll have a harder time in the low beam section. The E46 bixenons have the solenoid beneath the projector, so you're going to run into space issues.

Then you'll have to wire the + wire of the solenoid to your high beam +.

If you can't have your car down for long, an easy solution is to buy some used headlights off ebay. They wouldn't have to be perfect, you just need the internals intact. Then do the retrofit, and when you're done, swap the internals. The swapping will only take about 2-3 hours, if you know what you're doing.

Yeah, opening up the headlights is not bad at all. The first time it took me about an hour. The second time I did it took about 30 mins. Now the third time I have done it took me only 15 mins. Another tip to making aiming easier is to measure all the aiming bolts to see where they are at before you take them out. That way when you put them back in you can basically match the previous aiming.

how long would a project like this take, becuase my g is my daily driver. would it be more economical to get a used set of lights and work on those.

I would get a used set of lights and put them on your G. Take your stock lights off and work on them in the interim. This is what I am doing.

OH WAIT.....Pete were you by any chance driving on 37th Street heading crosstown towards the west side maybe a week or 2 ago? I saw a DG coupe with both headlights out and was thinking either someone had their headlights stolen (but there was no bumper damage) or they're doing a retrofit! It had to be you, jersey plates and all! I was outside of my building when i saw the G pass. Have you driven with no lights in? LOL

Haha..not it was not me that you saw. I have been working on my project at someones house in Jersey since they have a nice empty garage. I was driving like this for a while though:

Note to self: When driving with no front bumper cover on do not exceed 20mph. The air dam in front bends down from the air being rammed into it which causes some interesting sounds. Hah!

Pete, still waiting on that diy for the tsx projectors I have mine here just collecting dust. I'm off next week so I can finally do this! Should I lookout for anything? What did you do to the back of the lights to make them fit and what all did you cut with your dremel? Late..

Finished 95% of the project today. I still have to adjust the lights though.

I've also decided that I'm not going to take on anymore retrofits other than the ones that I've already promised. It's a lot of work...
