Help on DIY Led Clear Corner

Ok, I followed PeteNJ's DIY :
https://g35driver.com/forums/body-interior-exterior-lighting-diy/66536-diy-led-clear-corners-56k-go-watch-paint-peel.html

Problem is, when I tested it, the lower right array was brighter than the other three as seen in the pic. The array also got pretty hot when compared to the other three.

I doubled-checked the circuit and my solder connections...everything was good. I thought the resistor might be bad for that one array so I replaced it. Whohoo...that seemed to fix it...everything was evenly lit. So I mount the PC board onto the clear corner base with epoxy, checking several times before and after glueing that it still worked. Let it dry overnight and then this morning I fire it up and the lower right array is back to being bright again and generating heat! WTF?!

I'm no LED expert, but after a little internet reading, it seems like the one array is being "overdriven"? Does that sound right? As I mentioned, the array gets quite hot and while it's not noticeable in the pic, the color is a more intense amber than the other three arrays.

I thought it was a bad resistor, but after replacing it, the problem still came back. Could it be a bad LED in the arrray? I also just noticed that the upper left array flickers intermittently...going dim and then really bright.

My LED board for the other clear corner works PERFECTLY and I did everything exactly the same, which is why this is driving me bonkers. Any insight for this LED noob is much appreciated!

I had the exact same problem when I wired the LEDs parallel to each other. Try arranging them into series of 4 LEDs. The dimmer LEDs are due to inconsistent manufacturing on the diodes.

Btw, I am really glad someone is using my DIY. Makes it worth all the effort!

Cool Pete! Thanks. I'll give that a try and see how it goes.

Yes, your DIY contained lots of info and was a big help in many ways!
