HID on top, Projectors on the Bottom....what a combo!!

Hey Fellow G'ers....... I am looking to retrofit my 04' headlights..... Currently we have HID on top and halo on the bottom.... I would like to ask for an experience retrofitter to help me place bi-xenon where the halos are. i think that would just look sick on the car. I looked at the 06 headlights, but i don't like the fact that it doesn't have the clearance..( i think this really distinguish our G's). And I haven't seen any on the forum of anyone having this type of set-up yet.... so i think this would be pretty cool to have. Can someone PLEASE let me know if they can help or direct me in the right direction? Thanks so much and pics will be posted of course.......

wait you wantto make the fogs into projectors and keep the low beam the reg HID D2R? Why dont you just geta H4 Bi-Xenon HID conversion kit for the fogs?

Outcome:

Note, this is 8000k HID bulbs with an 8000k HID conversion kit on the fogs. THis is what I am doing for my fogs. (I already have 8000k HID bulbs)

did you have to do any modification for your 8000 HID bulbs or is it just straight up plug and play? and how is the different with factory? I saw they sell these 8000k bulbs on Ebay but wasn't sure if it's gonna be easy to install.

where are those 8000k d2r bulbs from?

well to answer you question, there is someone on the board here who has retrofitted bi-xenon projectors in both low/highs.

Ya....the leaking
My bodyman would not retrofit for me...he said the risk of leaking is too high
he doesn't want to mess up my car.....

Matt
Maybe he actually wants to gain lighting performance. Sorry, 8000k is just rice IMHO. Not only that you are going to be throwing light everywhere with your HID bulb+halogen reflector.

What is the point of buying upgraded optics if you are going to downgrade the light source?

a well designed H4 HID bulb in a reflector will look like any other H4 halogen bulb, but just with HID lighting. There will not be any light scatter. On a well designed H4 HID bulb, the size and physical spec are identical to a halogen bulb... there for creating an identical light pattern. I've been using HID conversion kits for 3 years, and also have an H4 HID conversion kit on my G35 as well. The light pattern doesnt change... only the light output and light temp.

Majority of people that upgrade to projectors, do it for the looks. Not to have better vision at night
