the silver thing just twist counter clock wise and it should pop right out, for the fogs, there are clips that you will need to push in and then they will pop out, pretty standanrd for H4 setups

Out of curiousity, do the ones for D2S bulbs, like on the 06' lights, not twist on? When I put mine on, it didn't seem to twist on, so I just pushed it straight on. Is that what that notch was for on the D2R?

i'm not sure about disconnecting the battery, because i changed my bulbs when the housing was off of the car, but to be safe, you probably should, since HID involves high voltage.

when i upgraded my lights to 06, i twisted the d2s on the same way as from 05, when you twist it past a certain point, you hear a click and it snaps into place

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are the '06 fog lights a different size than the previous models? The manual said they were H1's so that's what I ordered. Everybody's been using H4's and it's making me a bit nervous..

Yeah, they are H1. H4 is for the ones that double as high-beams.

The D2R and the D2S both have a locking mechanism where you push in to engage the bulb's solenoid/connectors and twist to lock in the silver things to the bulb.

Thumbs up

I have an 05" sedan and if you are talking about the H-1/H-4 bulbs, there is a small wire clip with two ends sticking up. You need to squeeze them together and pull back and it will release the bulb.

Ummm, H1 is a single filament 2 contact bulb. H4 is a dual filament 3 contact bulb.
