Under Dash Lighting

Has anyone done this mod yet? I know it seems sort of bling bling but I wanted to give it a shot anyway.

I installed 2 - 4" CCFL (Cold Cathode Flourescent Lights) under the foot wells of the dash board with velcro. They're blue in color and I also added a sound sensor that will flash the well lights to music. The wiring that came with them was designed for PC's, not cars but I hard wired them inot the fuse box to the right of the driver's left foot. There's a small converter that you hook the lights up to and that gets wired to the fuse box. I also ordered a sound sensor with this kit and the converter for the CCFL's plugs into the sensor. Then I cut some computer wires I had with a molex plug and hard wired that into the fuse box. So the electrical string goes like this - wire from fuse and ground to sound sensor, converter plugged into sensor, lights lug into converter. I was actually quite impressed with the work I did as the lights I ordered were for a computer, not a car. The install went fairly seemless except that one of the lights had a short and almost caught fire but I bought extra lights and switching them out was no pain. The lights use very low wattage, like 3.8 or something, and generate virtually no heat. They really light up the floor a lot in the car when on solid and the music thing is killer when activated!

Anyone interested in some pics if I take them?

Let me know!

Re: Under Dash Lighting

hum...i did some neons! I don't know if that counts! I did them under the seats so it glows from and back. Also some under both dashes! Then i changed all the interior lights to blue! Then i did some neons in the grill and on my nismo body kit.

Re: Under Dash Lighting

G35Lin,

Saw the front bumper light - very cool. Also saw the chick at the car show - HOT! What's the windshield banner say? She's blocking it. I'm thinking of one of those. Trying to get Yuichi to make a G35 Driver.com one. I see you also have Wildwood big brakes. Do you like? How's performance and when did you put them on - how many miles on your car? I'm looking for a better than stock brake set that fits the sport 17's I have and these do, however 2K for just the fronts is steep! What's the estimated life of the pads on these? I'm at a little over 10K MI and I'm feeling the need for new pads any day now!!!!
