if you're the DIY type of guy, then definately do the retro and get the S2K projectors on your housings!

but, if you're worried about ****ing up (like myself lol) then definately get the 06 housings!

either way you go, you'll be happy!

Wow, I think your headlights look awesome! I can seriously imagine your lights lighting up all 5 lanes in the I-5 freeway and the neighboring drivers swerving, seeing spots from taking a glimpse at your headlights through there rear-view mirror...

I have a few questions:

1) I tried looking for 194 bulbs on the PIAA website but I could only find 168 bulbs. Are they the same?

2) Are the city lights supposed to be yellow, amber or white?

3)so I'm considering the bulbs:
PIAA Headlight Bulbs - H1 Light Bulb: Xtreme Force 55w=110w, 4700k (Twin Pack)
and
Raybrig Headlight Bulbs - H1 Light Bulb: White Sonic 55w=90w, 5000k (Twin Pack, RR15)
I see that there is a difference of 20 watts but what does that difference do? Having lower wattage = lower light output?

Buy a set of '06 lamps and install them in the car while you do a conversion on your current lamps. If you're not happy with them, you'll already have the '06 lamps and will have at least taken the shot at doing the conversion. If you find your retrofit comes out better than the '06 lamps, you'll be able to resell them for closer to the purchase cost than the '05 lamps.

This way you're not stuck without headlamps and can go with whichever works out to be the best.

The key number on those two different pairs of bulbs is the 55W. Thats all it uses. So thus it would be the same as a stock 55W bulb you buy at any car parts store, as far as your car's electrical system is concerned.

That being said....Where piaa says 55W=110W...they are just saying that their bulb outputs light equivalent to a bulb rated at 110W...but yet only drawing 55W. Same with the Raybrig's. It's a 55W bulb that they advertise to say that it has an output of a 90W bulb. They are just saying their bulbs are brighter. Whether its true or not...ehh yes one bulb maybe brighter than another with the same input wattage...but thats all subject to opinion.

what bulbs are in the amber corners? are they stock?

also are LEDs brighter than the 168 bulbs? Is it ok to use LEDs for the city lights?

yes it is ok to use LED, but i've used a set before on an 06' and i'm not sure is it because of the LED or the nature of the fog+citylight housing that the LED burnt out on both sides. I remember hearing people say that LEDs will burn out due to the high heat from the fogs.

Looks really good nevertheless.

What problems did you run into when installing these 06s on the 05? I heard things as far as the cord isn't long enough for the plug making it difficult?

Also... how did you allign the headlights to fit? Was it easy? When I picked up the headlights from Chad@infinitspecialists he told me that some people had problems w/ alligning the headlights so they look flush w/ the hood (something to do w/ the three bolts)
