is there a forum sponsor that sells the bulbs/lights? Or would you recommend an online retailer...

thanks

My setup is basically using the factory bulbs, which are 4100K I think. The city lights are PIAA Plasma Blue, and the fogs are PIAA Extreme White. I once summer hits. I am going to do IvoryGT clean leans swap with the TSX lense, and bend the shield to get a better cutoff line with more color at the line. He has a simple DIY on this forum. Then I am going with Philips 5000K or 4300K, I am debating. Anything above 5000K sucks, don't do it. Then get a HID kit for the fogs to match the projector color. I am still not sure what to do with the city light. The PIAA Plasma Blue bulb has faded over time. The color layer as melted away over time. I guess PIAA doesn't really care about making a high quality 194 bulb. Maybe I'll go LED next time.

I am using PIAA H1 Xtreme White Plus. The 06 fogs use H1 instead of H4. Since there is no need for a dual-filament. Also the pics above are with just the city lights on and not the fogs.

thanks for the quick response...

I see that there are a couple of different Philips 4300k replacement bulbs (Philips 4300k D2R Bulb and the Philips 4300k D2S Bulb) - which one is a direct replacement for the 06 setup?

http://www.xenondepot.com/category.php?category_id=9 Is this place the best place to buy bulbs or is there a forum sponsor or better place to deal with?

Big thanks!

D2R = the "R" stands for reflector, which means it goes into a housing the reflects light into the street (i.e. not a projector housing). The 03-05 use D2R. The D2R bulbs have a ceramic shield attached to the top to prevent light from shining on the top of the housing, which would produce glare to incoming traffic.

D2S = the "S" stands for spherical, which basically is for a projector housing since the light is shining through a spherical housing. The 06+ uses D2S. The D2S bulb is the same as the D2R bulb, but without the ceramic shield, so the light can shine 360 degrees.

The notches on the D2S and D2R socket are different. A D2R bulb can be converted into a D2S bulb by sandpapering the ceramic shield off and cutting a notch in the socket base to flt in the projector housing. This is what I did initially when buying the 06 lights for my 05 (I didnt want to have to buy bulbs :-P), but then I got an 06 G. :-D
