8000k HIDs are nice, but loses a little too much visibility for me. It was pooring rain last night, and my 6000k HID lows AND fogs were just barely cutting it!... I would have really hated 8000 in the rain

Either way... very nice! and consider keeping your fogs stock... just in case

yeah, why is it that they are worse in the rain and fog?? Is it because they are reflectors opposed to projectors??

You're shifting farther down the spectrum, and your eyes can't see blue/purple as well. Also you are tricking yourself into thinking 6000k or 8000k is brighter, your eye is just picking up more glare. When it rains or is foggy the light is scattering all over the place, glaring others and not reflecting back to your eyes.

3800k~4300k are full color spectrum, where 6000k+ HID are filtering out visible light.

If people really want blue looking lights they should get projectors and 4300k HID bulbs, and get a blue/purple cut-off.

8000k are crap!

i just installed 8k as well. I love them, they look awesome. I dont see much of a difference in the light output in normal conditions. However, it was raining yesterday and I did notice that they are not as bright and do not go as far. However, I have Hyper White fog lights that are extremely white with no tint and accompanied with the 8k the light output is like stock

some say they are 4100-4300K and others say 5000K... so just figure something along those lines.

i've bet they're 4100-4300K

as long as you stick to 4100-4300K, you should get the most light output. anything higher then that is mainly for looks. you lose a bit of visibility but you get the blue/purple to it.

the highest i'd go is 6000K in projectors, but i'd stick to OEM bulbs in reflectors.
