Raybrig or PIAAs?

H4 Super Plasma GT-X
http://piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-H4.html
or
Raybrig White Sonic 5000k
http://www.prolightstar.com/lightbul..._sonic_h4.html

I favor the Raybrigs but this little description of the GT-X keeps me from buying the Raybrigs..

"PIAA has added a purple colored top coat giving the headlamp a purple look even when the lamp is turned off."

that's like an extra $20 for just a purple tint... worth it? unless there's actual light output difference

i have GT-X in the fogs now, and there is no purple to speak of. you can't see it. and when it's lit, you can't tell that it's purple - well, maybe very slightly. get what's cheaper. i do commend PIAAs on the quality - the lights look very nice on the road.

see my install thread here: https://g35driver.com/forums/lighting/85735-phillips-ultinon-6000k-piaa-super-plasma-gt-x-before-after-pics.html

Raybrigs is a cheaper alternative. PIAA would be my choice hands down. unless you spend the extras to get the ultimate best, Bellof.
