Cool So what is this CITY LIGHTS thing?

So I got my 2006s here, waiting on my D2S to come in shipped... I'm trying to learn the difference about all teh bulb types for this new housing. I'm always really busy w/ work, but today I had a chance to sit down and take a look at the housing... I see the little spot for the CITY LIGHTS bulb, I know this isn't on my 03 housing... am curious what the CONCEPT OF CITY LIGHTS IS ALL ABOUT.

Are they always going to be on if the headlights are on (UNLIKE FOGS that NEED THE SWITCH FOR FOGS to come on?)

I am really toying w/ the idea of not even purchasing the H1 fogs if I get the city lights in the same area... please advise

TIA =)

City lights are on 100% of the time... though when the fogs are on you really can't see them. I'm not quite sure what's the point of it considering you can barely see it anyways... but I guess it's for a slight illuminance in the times when the headlights dont turn on and it gets a bit dark?

They just look cool!

Actually, they just act like parking lamps. When you park your car somewhere at night like in front of a store for a short period of time, you turn on your parking lights but not your headlights so that you don't make it an inconvenience for other drivers by having your headlights on, but you have something on so that they will know you're there and for them to watch out.

I dunno. I just pulled that out of my ****.

So like the first click after the AUTO LIGHTS ON is what will turn on the city lamps right? I'm guessing this is the same look as we see on BMWs that are cruising around during the day w/ angel eyes on or something?

basically, the city lights are all ALL THE TIME, in ALL LIGHT **** positions, EXCEPT when you're in P with hand brakes.

I have an 04 and just put on my 06 projectors but the city lights NEVER come on. What am I doing wrong? Or do they only work with 05-06 coupes?

make sure to have a bulb in there and only turn on the blinkers. you'll notice it then...

and the years wouldn't matter because the housings are wired differently... so as long as you have bulbs that work, you shouldn't have any problems...

^+1 Haze is correct. Its the little parking lamp thats prodtruding into the foglamp reflectors. SEE IMAGE - not to be confused with DRL's.

My Prelude's had these, LOVED them. Wish my '05 coupe had em

I keep hearing people saying that the city light is supposed to be on all the time and others are saying that they are parking lights? Which is it? My city lights only come on when I put my parking lights on.
