Re: XENON headlights
any hid simulated bulbs are good. concerning the wattage don't go too crazy, don't go more than 85 watts. personally piaa bulbs are way over priced, you can get bulbs that are hecka lot cheaper. hyper-industry, showoff bulbs are alright. ebay for less than $20.

Re: XENON headlights
Hey I'd be careful going more than stock wattage. I had 85w bulbs in my old 2000 xterra and after a few months, the sockets of the headlamps melted and I had to get it fixed. I was lucky tho. There was a guy who had melted his entire harness. I don't know how good the wiring harness on our G's is but I wouldn't take the chance if I were you. Since the G was designed for HIDs it might sustain more wattage on the harness since HIDs use about 70w on startup and then 35w after that for continuous driving. But keep this in mind when upgrading to higher wattage bulbs. You could play it safe by getting an high wattage wiring harness installed aftermarket. APC makes one and they can handle up to 90w. Hope this helps.
Re: XENON headlights
The PIAA bulbs run with the standard 55/66w. PIAA optimizes the gases in the bulbs to burn a whiter light, thus seemingly running at a higher wattage....
You should have no issues with the PIAA bulbs..

Re: XENON headlights
Jambee,
I just recently installed the Sylvania Siler Stars for the Fog/High and they are brighter than the HKS ones I installed for the Lows. You can order the Silver Stars from their web site http://www.sylvania.com/auto/silverstar.htm
Part Number 9003ST shipping is free and by FedEx 2 day. They currently do not make the H1 replacements for the Low beams in Silver Stars. BTW the 9003STs are rated 55-65W but light output is 4000K. So there should not be an issue with heat, the stock lights got pretty hot too. Having placed my hand on the light housing after a long drive.

Re: XENON headlights
Merlin, Any installation tips for these bulbs? The Infiniti G35 owner's manual is terse, to say the least: "A bulb can be replaced from under the engine compartment without removing the headlight assembly." That's it!
I have halogen headlights, since I couldn't order the Xenon's without also ordering a sunroof (why??), which I didn't do because I'm very tall. Crazy policy, as I would have gladly paid for the Xenon option. Anyway, my prime interest is getting brighter low-beams (H-1 bulb) without going through the hassle and expense of after-market Xenons. Any advice on a brighter H-1 halogen?

G35Guy,
To answer your questions.
1- It will take you about an hour overall to change the bulbs on both sides. This includes jacking up the car one side at a time and pulling 6 clips and 2 screws on each side. This is the easiest way to change them, gives you more space to work, so you do not screw up your nice new bulbs.
2- I replaced the Low H1s with HKS bulbs, they are OK but I think the Silver Stars are 'Whiter', unfortunately Sylvania does not currently make a replacement for H1s in Silver Stars.
3- Overall with both sets replaced I am happy with the results. I do think though that I have to adjust my beams to point a little higher.
4- The reflection off the lenses causes a crisscross pattern of lines to be noticeable by me, but this cannot be changed unless you install the 'coupe' light assembly. Now there's a thought!!
5- If you want to have different lights for your low beams, I would recommend the CATZ or the HKS bulbs.
See ya.

Re: XENON headlights
With the HKS the Lows were noticeably brighter than stock with what looks like a slight purple tint when compared to the light the Silver Stars gives off, against a white wall.

Re: XENON headlights
i have PIAA Super Plasma HID blub for my fogs
comparing to my HID, i think it's not getting enough voltage...
the HID is white, and the fog light is purplish. and the high beam is near the color of the HID.
