Why didn't Infiniti put the newer HR engine in the 08+ M35s?

Beats me. It's under the hood of the '08 JDM Fuga. The JDM car also got paddle shifters and a couple of other features that didn't make it to the US spec M.

Eh, it will be a new reason to choose the newer body style in the following year. It also should be getting at least one more cog, if not two (fingers crossed). That is weird that the JDM version got the new motor and the M didn't. Another reason is with that extra power, thats getting a bit to close to the 45 in terms of power so they wanted to keep the two further apart before the new V8 is ready to roll. As for the 3.7 I wouldn't be 100% sure about seeing it in the M... They stuck with the 3.5L in the new FX due to its higher/flatter torque curve. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the new version of the 3.5 in the M before the 3.7L. But thats just my thinking...

I'm not shocked the JDM one got it first. They always keep the best stuf over there at first.

If the M35 had the new motor..it would definitely be a good move.
