Difference between 06/07 M and 08 M

I'm close to being in the market for an Infiniti M.

Do not know if I want 06/07 or 08.

Engine is the same, transmission is the same...seems like the same packages were offered (AFS headlights, Infiniti Mobile Entertainment, Rear Heated Seats/DVD Player)...is there anything that is different or did the 08 just get an exterior makeover and slight interior makeover (different colors for speedometer, wood trim, etc.)?

Yeah I just don't know if I want to shell out extra money for a new model or settle for an 06/07.

The only thing I like about the 08's are the blue interior lighting, the rear bumper on the sports, and the front bumper. I assume all the 'technological' amenities are the same.

08 = facelift, technology update, journey package became standard.

Technology update meaning? As far as I can tell...everything is the same in terms of type of technology (obviously it depends on which package you get).

Technology update meaning the Navigation was changed from the old DVD system to the harddrive system in the current G sedan, FX, EX, and QX.

Oh okay...that's not that big of a deal. There are some good deals on autotrader.com and cars.com for some 08's.

What's your take on those kinds of sites? It seems like some of the deals are too good to be true cause when I look through dealer inventories on actual dealer websites, the prices are considerably higher.

Would you not recommended going through a site such as autotrader?

If I'm going to be spending all this money...I want the latest and greatest. Looks like the 08 has considerably more than the '1st Gen. M'.

I assume it would be possible to make an X look like an S? Meaning the front bumper and rear bumper. No? I love the 08 S rear bumper.

They don't have an xS for the 08. At least I haven't seen any in the 90 cars I've looked at online. The X's don't even have an option for a sport package which sucks.

The biggest change that I noticed are those smaller tail lights on the 08. The rear looks very similar to the later Q45s.
