2008 M35 killed ipod at first use !
Hello, I bought a used 08 M35 with tech/nav. I am using what I assume is the factory ipod interface cable.
Yesterday I tried connecting an ipod for the first time. When I plugged an ipod in and had the system set to use the ipod input, the system never recognized the attached ipod. It always said no ipod connected.
I tried with a 4th gen "classic" 20gb with the correct firmware, and a touch (few years old, unknown firmware). Both ipods worked fine before connecting to the car. The older classic still works fine by itself or in a dock in the house. The ipod touch is completely bricked and unresponsive. Tried it by itself, on a dock, attached to a computer, etc.
Anyone else ever have this happen? The car is still under the factory warranty until mid December. I assume I can take it in and have this checked out under warranty...
