Hi,
I've noted that, perhaps related to ambient temperature, either the drivers side or passenger side door locks don't automatically lock/unlock. I can see them move a bit but it's almost like there isn't enough force. I've seen the thread on an actuator replacement but wasn't sure if this was the same problem since it's both doors and the actuator does seem to try.
Any thoughts?

Yea both my doors do the same -.-
You need a new door actuator. They sell some on craigslist, the pair for $60.
Its the install thats the real pain.

 

same here.. i've been planning to replace both lock actuators for the past 3 years..

 

I seem to have the door lock issue intermittently on the passenger door side only when the temps get pretty hot. Mostly during the days when I leave the car out in the sun/heat, the power door button (on the keyfob or driver door).

Like most older cars, its probably the power lock actuator going out or wearing out. It happend to my Toyota sedan also on the passenger side where the front door power lock doesn't work at all anymore.

 

That problem is common within the g/z's. Happens to our windows as well where it would go up fully and then come back down a bit. I paid about 100$ to replace each actuator, its a pain in the *** lol

 

I have the same issue. Replaced both window motors twice. Now my locks are acting up. I was thinking that putting some more grease on the cable might help. Has anyone tried that?

 

Just got my car back from service and the dealership notified me that my left door actuator is failing and gave me an estimate of 500$. Don't want to do the 5$ diy method. Was think of just buying the OEM and installing myself.

Did anyone purchase the OEM actuator and install it?

If so, from where did you purchase the part?

 

Get the part number and search ebay with that part number. I find brand new oem parts dirt cheap on there.

To install you will have to remove the door panel, window, and regulator. Its not that hard just time consuming.

 

I bought a setup on eBay for $50. Works great and wasn't that hard to install. Now that I know what parts are used, I will make the next one

 

I did just a few days ago.. $286.00 for the actuator and about 45 minutes of my time...
