Completely agree. Powdercoat is much more acceptable IMO of course

New cookie cutter is bone stock and rattle canned black wheels.

False. If it's properly done a metallic or black color it's fine. OEMs are starting to sale cars with gunmetal/black wheels. For example the GTR wheels. What difference if their smoke or alloy.

The biggest problem with painting OEM wheels is people do it cheap and get rattle can spray from Walmart, it chips, it fades, it doesnt clean up nice, and it looks like garbage after a couple months. If you do them right they can look awesome.

I agree that it won't last as long a powder coat job for sure, but for saywat? To say its "ghetto" is completely foolish, I spent hours properly sanding each wheel down, proper paint coats and clear etc etc....I mean if you used the word cheap.. Then yea it was cheap as in inexpensive and lower quality than powder coat but ghetto.....come on, really?... Have a look below at the final product.. It practically looks OEM. This isn't some cheap 240 drift car that had the wheels sprayed over once with a neon spray paint bought at a hardware store....

^ Im jus not a fan of people painting OEM wheels. Usually people who do it, do it with the intention of making it "appear" aftermarket. I don't care wat the gtr has. It's even more ghetto when people try to mimic the gtr.

To me its no different than the ricer with the stock car but painted his car with different black themes ie roof, hood , OEM wing side mirror cover, . All with the hopes to make it appear modded. But in the end its jus a stock car . Thus usually looking ghetto.

Also not a fan of g35 18s lol . U may say u did it for said reasons but deep deep down im sure u did it with hopes of making it look aftermarket. It's like the guy who wears gold plated jewelry

BUT if he's happy with it it's okay. I don't like 18's on the g35 coupe. They look tiny. I think some 20's look huge. The sweet spot is 19's. I painted my wheels on my speed6, because I wanted them darker. I was just purely sick of the silver. I didn't have enough for the wheels I wanted so I painted them. Did the same correct process. Sand, paint, clear coat... Still chipped badly.

Haha not trying to mimic the GTR , I just liked how the colors worked with each other between the silver and the dark grey wheels, am I a ricer when I walk into a house and say " I like the color of your wall" and then paint one of my walls the same color?? I know you weren't taking a shot at me to be a jerk or anything but that's a really petty thing to pick someone apart on.

Sure I used a duplicolor rattle can to paint the wheels... So far I have has them on and off the car about 4 times and it's holding up well. I just wanted the dark gray color on the silver body. I didn't feel like wasting 2000+ dollars on aftermarket wheels on a car that I bought for 10 grand that is simply a fun Daily driver... Reason being, at this point in the cars life it wouldn't be a good investment plain and simple. But I wouldn't call someone ghetto or ricer for making that choice...

To me ricer is the guy who buys a $500 set of aftermarket wheels from belle tire and puts them on a nice car like this. It's pointless, trading OEM quality for something cheap just to change the appearance.... Same to me as big wings that aren't functional and non functional good scoops and vents. I changed the color of my OEM wheel because the colors compliment each other... /rant lol

Interesting so u wouldn't call someone a ricer but gives us ur idea of a ricer?

So wat are ur thoughts on someone painting their hub caps? To me its the same difference lol. If u still think its Koo then let's jus agree to disagree.

U say u didn't wanna spend money on aftermarket wheels. Well same as the ghetto ricer guys. That's why they spray paint their stock wheels.

Lastly no one mods their cars to increase its value nor only mod cars with value. That's jus dumb to think that way

A person could easily spend $10k to boost their car yet the car is only worth half that maybe even less. It doesn't make it not a good idea or in ur view a good "investment".

You're right, that is true. I guess I was a little sensitive because I felt like keeping the stock wheels was not the rice way to go and was proud that I took the time and the job came out great looking.
