You're getting 40k+ on Max or Ultra performance summer tires?

Have compounds changed that much in 20 years? I couldn't get 15k out of all seasons on my Cougar in 225/60/16, but now you can double that with sticky pure summer tires?

How do you drive? Like a grandma?

06G35meister...great reporting and feedback for all of us....thank you.

I DO HAVE ONE QUESTION...would you recommend running 255 in the front to get closer to OEM height.

I have been running 245/265/35 on OEM rims and the front seems to take a bit of a beating. This may be in part to swapping out OEM shocks for Bilsteins. I have stock springs on the car.

My next setup may be 255/275/35 any thoughts?

Cheers!

Do the math, your 16" tires made far more revolutions in 15K miles than a 19" rim would. And todays tires are far superior to what they were in the past. I had the first set of 60 series tires on my '65 GTO and they were junk, impossible to get a good balance....Gary

Just changed out my rear @ 35k miles, fronts still have about 25% left but I went ahead and changed them too. The FK452 did really well, great treadwear!!
But I decided to go with General Gmax this time, which has an even higher treadwear rating lol.
And I don't drive aggressively all the time but I don't baby it either. Flipped them at 15k and kept them well inflated at all time.
