just had my heater core replaced and the shop said this light came on and cant diagnosis it so was trying this and nothing. i seem like i get a code now. comes on then goes out for 5 secs, on, then off for another 5 secs, on, then flashes 7 times, then back to the 5 secs thing and continues like that.

Just be aware. This procedure only resets the light. If there is a problem with the airbag system, the light will come back. It might even take as long as a week or two.
BTW, warranty on the airbags lasts longer than the factory warranty. You might want to double check to see if you are covered.

I wanna say it's 5 year, 60,000 miles on the airbags. I beleive they are covered under the drivetrain warranty.
I'd call up infiniti with your VIN# and confirm this first.

Turn the key to the on position and watch the airbag light. It should stay solid for 5-7 secs, and then turn off, and then start to flash.
To reset the light, you must turn the key to on, watch the airbag light stay solid for 5-7 secs and as soon as the airbag light turns off, turn the key to the off position (you have to turn the key to off before the airbag light starts to flash, or you must start over). You need to repeat this 5 times. Try to start the car, and hopefully the light will be reset.
