yes my grill is flat black, and i did do it my self, its not to hard of a process just make sure you sand it really well and clean it off before you paint it. i had some dust under the paint so i had to re-sand and paint it kind of a bitch. but i love the way it looks, thanks for asking, ill be posting more pics today after i get rid of that nasty fender lining and possibly debadge.
what kind of paint did you use? find you have issues with stone chips? that is my biggest fear...stone chipped mess. already had OEM front and lip spoiler repainted after only 25K miles.

i used this krylon camo paint in flat black because its specifically for plastic and it covered really well, lots of people use duplicolor too. that sucks about the rock chips tho, hope this helps
so i took my car to the infiniti dealership today and they gladly removed the moldings and debadged my G

^question about the touch up paint should i just make sure the area is really clean then just apply the paint lightly with a q-tip. do i have to wax or anything of that nature to make sure the paint stays good looking? any input is appreciated.
