Update: So far its holding up fine with sub zero weather and heat from engine!

Why would it melt? Well i dont know how the spray can will hold up, but looks good so far

you downgraded lol 03s have the engine cover all black the way yours looks now, in 04 or 05 they started the 2 tone black and silver which looks much better. You went backwards but to each their own

There is no reason why it wouldn't hold up. PlastiDip can withstand up to 315 degrees. The engine cover, even the plenum itself (or your exhaust for that matter) don't get that hot.

It will NOT destroy your paint. It peels off cleanly and leaves no residue. Check out some of the stuff I have done with it, people who have seen it in person all have given it compliments.
