Chris, just to clear up here are 2 photos the show the visual difference (lights off) between the two tail lights.

This particular set was built off of the J-spec tail lights, so they will have more visual appeal as the black will be more visible and the lensing will also look more interesting. Both US-spec and J-spec can be built up per customer request.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words and if you dont like them, thats fine too.. just remember that the stock lights have less than 30 LEDs and ours have over 400. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with stock.......
