Painted my OEM 18" GTR Graphite Grey *PICS*

Hey Guys,

I searched far and wide for pics of this color on stock wheels and what not.. found very little...

anyways, I pulled the trigger and went for it!! below are the pics. I will also update with mounted pics when once i get there. I am going to wait for about a week to let the paint cure before I mount them. I really hope they don't chip or peel. I am also worried about tire installation on the wheel too.

I followed steps shown on DIY painting wheel videos from youtube. The product I used was Duplicolor wheel paint and clear. Please everyone, chime in and give me some thoughts, opinions and concerns!

looks good. i painted my rims on my old civic and they chipped like crazy, but i dont think i let them cure long enough. but if you do chip just touch up those spots and you are good to go.

Did you ever have issues getting new tires mounted?

That would depend on the shop really. Some shops are sloppy and scratch wheels and some know what they are doing and don't.

Hey Guys,

So its been over a week now and the clear coat easily marks up when i drag a fingernail across it.... Is this just because its cheap duplicolor rattle can clear or does it just need more time??

THanks

I'm going to say mostly it being Duplicolor, and a little of being not enough time.

Lol, just kinda went for the gtr sorta color scheme, dark metallic wheels on silver painted body. Closest I'll get without using my savings to buy a real gtr lol. I love this car quite a bit. A lot of bang for the buck IMO

I had debated that color on previous cars but never did it. Looking at yours I can say it looks awesome.
