Day late - dollar short...

Sorry to get in on this thread so late but was just browsing older threads and thought I'd contribute...

I agree with others BTW if you are only going to leave the Mt. Fuji emblem on then I would move it down an inch or 2...

I may put the new Impul logo on my trunk and they align theirs downward about 2" when they put it on.... they align it so that it is exactly mid point between the lower trunk body line and the bottom edge of the spoiler...

Badges... we don't need no stink'n badges... It's amazing how many comments I have gotten here in Japan since I de-badged this the other week...

Impul alignment.... this has their spoiler attached though which covers the factory chrome spoiler...

Cheers,

I debadged mine just now, however, I can't seem to get the ghost off from the INFINITI letterings. Help please! I tried my best etching it off with my nail and then used Goo-Gone, but the remains are still visible.

Use some scratch-X from Maguiars and it should come right off.

Oh, did you by any chance clean off all the adhesive? If not, try using some Goo Clean. They work wonders. Just remember to wipe them off clean.

I have Goo-Gone, nifty stuff from what I've heard. I have a lot of the adhesive left...I can fully see the INFINITI on the trunk still and feel it. Maybe I'm just not using the Goo-Gone stuff properly? Should I pour the Goo-Gone onto the adhesive and let it soak for a couple of min and then pick at it? Maybe I'll just run the car through a car wash / use a pressure washer lightly to wash the rear...hopefully it'll help getting that crap off

edit: amazing pics blueslate

Oh! I see what you mean now. That foam thing you have left? Is that what you're talking about? If so, man... I have to tell ya that IT IS A PITA to take them off!!! I spent nearly 20 full mins pushing those damn foams outta my car and, THANKFULLY , it left me with TWO blisters on my thumb!

Another method tho', although still requires your precious thumb, is to push those foams out by wrapping a microfiber towel around your thumb and just push them... push them hard. It might leave you a few fine swirls, but you can get rid of them with Scratch-X easily.

After those stupid foam adhesives are removed, just spray some Goo-Gone and clean off some small adhesive left overs, and then put some Scratch-X to finish off the debadging...

Blueslate-pictures are wonderful. flourescent light at night really shows off the characteristics of the paint!

heat/fingernail/factory job hardened fingertips+goo gone=clean look

when its thick, try to roll it up with your finger, when its thin, use a finger nail.

you have to patient and just work the adhesive off in layers. after a bit, you will be down to the paint.
