Yaay! Picked up '06 G35 sedan today!

Picked up an 06 Infiniti G35 today…w/16K mi....paid $26K plus tax...not the greatest deal but my g/f was a bit upside down on her trade and really want to unload it. It'll be my live in girlfriend's daily commuter and basically my weekend car to drive since I commute year round here in SoCal on my sportbikes. She's paying a bigger chunk of the payments too...

I’ll snap some pics tomorrow when it's light out. It’s a light gray color, chrome 17” factory rims. Has all options but Nav. Have to say……sweet car! Comfortable, well built, clean as hell and FAST! I think you can put 87 in it? (although 91 is recommended) It’s got 87 in it now and rides awesome. We test drove the 128i Beemer before that…nice car but too expensive and everything is a freakin' option on it…..even real leather! We also drove the G35 coupe (used)… comfort on the coupe SUCKS! Seats are narrower and it’s just not comfortable at all for me…..so passed on it.

Anyway, LOVE this G35! Not going to mod or change a freakin' thing.....especially since it's just a weekend car for me......but I like it the way it is. Really a sweet car......no mystery why so many are on the road...a hell of a lot of car for the money!

Not unless it's free.......all my mods go into these.....the only reason I even drive a car on the weekends is b/c my g/f doesn't ride and to take our dogs to the dog beaches. There's nothing about this car I want to change (or should I say pay to change). Sound, performance, visually....it's all good. I wouldn't spend another cent on it....now if I bought a Mustang or a Vette.....than I'd be modding

Congrats on your car!

No offense, but with the car market as it is right now, why didn't you negotiate a bit (like $4-5K)?

Did.....Edmunds retail for their car was 26K which is what I paid..orig they wanted 29K....some inflated BS price. Problem was the trade...the Chrysler...we couldn't unload privately and 5 diff dealers...the most on trade we were getting was 13000.....after lots of haggling. So we got 12500 for it and they would go no lower than 26K WITH taking the trade. G/f said she wanted to do it....so I said Ok. Nothing down....and I'm only paying $200/mo for the car. She's paying the rest $300+ and insurance...and she really wanted to unload her car and was sick of car shopping...loved the G35....was happy with her payment....etc. I did my best but the trade was the killer....of course that's HER car too.....

tints definitely.....anything else...maybe if it's dirt cheap. I honestly could care less about performance mods. To me the G is just a nice rwd sedan that's decent looking and comfortable to get around in. I get my speed fix (and then some) everyday on my bikes....nothing on 4 wheels really comes close in that regard.

As long as you realize you didn't really fix anything b/c now you're upside down on the G as well. It's only delaying the inevitable that you will have to pay for what you bought. The dealer took every additional cent owed on that Chrysler and tacked it onto the G and then some to make some profit for their trouble.

If she couldn't set aside any money for the down on the G, she couldn't afford the Chrysler in the first place so swapping it for a "retail" priced used G will only make it worse for her in the long run. $500+/mon sounds like a 60 month note which I assume also has at least 7% interest for a car that's nearly 3 yrs old. Do yourself a favor and get her to pay this car down fast and buckle down on spending b/c it sounds like you're pushing the envelope with this type of deal.

Hate to say it, but I agree. The KBB private party value is ~$20K. You'd get a few K less than that for a trade-in.

But if you guys like the G, that's all that matters!

Of course I realize what the transaction was....I've bought/sold tons of cars. Obviously the negative $3K equity was tacked on to the G35. Would I have done the deal if it was just me and I was paying for the car note? Probably not but then again I would have never bought the Chrysler to begin with. But since she couldn't give the Chrysler away she took the hit. I could have afforded to put a lot down but why should I? I'm only paying 200/mo towards the car every month and she pays the rest, which she can easily afford since she lives with me. My portion is a drop in the bucket for me.

And 7%....no chance...2.9 for 60 mos from the dealer. And no dealer is selling an 06 with under 20k for $20k..not here in socal anyway...couldn't do priv party bc of the trade.

Yes, I told her she should pay extra on the payment every month to get it paid down faster but she realizes she's stuck being already upside down on the G35. But she plans on keeping it for the long run and it should hold up....and she loves it....so whatcha gonna do....

Congrats, it is just like mine except mine is an X... I paid $23,000 otd for my 05 X with 40k miles, certified with elite warranty about a month ago. It has the premium and nav packages and KBB certified it was listing at $25k before TTL. Thankfully the G is paid off, so I didn't have to worry about paying on it.

22,260 KBB private party equipped with everything this one has..blue tooth, integrated phone, Bose..etc.....which I'd never get at a dealer with a trade....so it's an irrelevant comparison.

KBB retail is 25,200 and we paid 26K which was certified used with the added 6yr/100K limited warranty added on.

Congrats!

LOL...I just bought the same one yesterday. Same color and interior. Only difference I believe is mine has a spoiler and my front seats look like they have a little more cushion. Did they make more then one type of seat? Maybe its just my imagination.

I love the car, but I really want to get some rims nice simple chrome rims. Trying to be good and not empty my savings on rims.

For a sedan this thing freaking flys.

I paid 21500 plus tax, title and docs. It has a little over 22k miles on it.
