Hi guys, Im a new member. I was a member of NICOCLUB for 2 years, and recently G35nyc.com.
I came Across this forums.
here is a little about me ( or my car i should say)
I own 2003 G35 sedan.
I own those upgrades for the car
Motordyne spacer, Motordyne MREV2, UR underdrive pulleys, Borla Exhaust, Stillen airbox with Ztube, Nvidia test pipes.
and visiual upgrades: Gtech Guage. 19's rims oem (accually wanna trade them for aftermarket 17's) Roof spoiler ETC...
here is some pics of my car.

This was my car until 6 months ago I had an accident...here are some pics from my crash
----altima I hit

---thats me

and here is some pics of my car after body shop was done...

I couldnt get my optional bumper from the dealer because the dealer said it will take 6 weeks for it to come and I needed the car the same week..
thats basicly my bodyshops fault cuz the owner said he could get it and he DIDNT...So i did the next best thing. I bought regular bumper plus STILLEN lip.

I am also a member of a TeamZRP.com
we go to a track and play with cars..... you can visit the site.
Im just a begginer with that. I know little about cars, but learning slowly.

I guess that is all for my introduction....Hopefully I get a warm welcome...

I prefer the aerokit bumper, but I read your comments on that situation.

why are you wanting to sell you rays for 17s?

are you sure it was because of the wheels? could be your body kit weighs more.. i dont think the forged rays weigh any more than your 17s

i think casted is lighter then forged...Casted is liquid poured into a shape so less material being used....Forged are pressed into a shape for strenght, so more material is being used....
I could be wrong so feel free to correct me....
but for a fact my 19s are heavier then the 17s I had before

You may have some issue with having more mass further away from the center of the wheel and what not---but I don't think you can blame one second on the wheels...maybe 3 tenths of a second If I had a guess......

forged wheels are lighter than an equivalent sized cast wheel. In the case of the 19" rays, I believe they are just a bit lighter than the stock cast sport 17s which I still have but they are not for sale! If the 19s were cast, I would NOT have put them on my G.

Forged and cast rims differe in terms of manufacturing process; just looking at the terms "forged" and "cast" gives you the basic idea. Forged rims are made from solid aluminum billets (ex: the material used by Motoforge is high quality 6601 T6 aluminum, which is utilized in producing aerospace products). Aluminum billets are heated (bt not melted) to allow hydralic pressure machines to forge them into shapes of wheels rims; afterwards, the rims are further processed on lathes. Cast rims, on the other hand, are made from aluminum melted into liquid form and then poured into molds for cooling. The stucture and strength of solid aluminum is by all means superior to that of liquid aluminum. Being produced with intense pressure, forged wheel rims are 3 times stronger than cast ones. In addition, forged rimcs are light (25~30% lighter than cast rims), impact-resistant and durable, which are musts for reducing the total weight of a car and lead to better fuel efficiency, longer brake system life and relatively safer driving.

Do you know for sure or are you figuring wheels and tires? The oem 19's are wider than the 17's and are typically mated with wider tires. In many cases the tires weigh more but the wheels don't.

Welcome! I remember seeing you on Nico~ I have the same username there~ Nice G bro! I'm considering getting my side sills painted and that front lip looks pretty nice~ Nismo is too costly for me so that may be my route. BTW where'd you get that roof spoiler?
