Quote: i dont like anything youve done.. you should be removing splash guards, not adding them.
the amber corners dont look bad, i just dont see why you didnt want your clears..
the chrome trim thing is so small it doesnt look different.
and that thing hanging on your nismo is sure an effective way to cheapen it.
your car is still nice.. im just not feeling any of this stuff!
Wow. DaveB is easily the most innovative and resourceful member on here, and quite humble about it too. He just presents what he's done as an alternative to other methods, and never says his way is better than any other. It's really disrespectful to come in to his thread and tell him what he should be doing to HIS car, and what parts he should or shouldn't have on it. If you don't like it, then don't do it, but don't tell him he shouldn't.

Dave, many of us appreciate everything you've tried out, even if we don't personally like a particular mod or plan on doing it. At least you're pushing the envelope, and I know I respect that. Keep it up.

Buckeye the voice of reason speaks.

Once again, you're right on. risingson, it's one thing to express your dislike for something, but to tell someone what they should do to their car is just laughable.

Still laughing, still laughing, still laughing, ouch gotta stop, my sides hurt haha.

Quote: This year I've been playing around with a few things. Nothing earth shattering, but I thought I'd share.

First up, and it's a bit hard to see, I took some 3/8" wide black pinstriping and used it to black out 3/8" of the chrome trim that wraps around the windows (not the lower belt though, it's already narrow enough). I don't like how wide the OEM trim is so I thought this would be a simple fix....The first pic also does a better job of showing the narrowed chrome trim.
I like the Chrome mod. Definately evens out the look our trim. You've got me thinking about doing that as well. It's minimal but clean

That's fine. Looks are in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone likes the same look. That's great because if we did, we'd be driving the same exact cars. No fun in that.

I like OEM splash guards on most cars. I know a lot of people dislike them. I think they can make the car look a little lower and sporty. I had the clears for 4 years and I got tired of the look. Everyone's got them and I've never been a fan of their color when the light is on. I know I could put clear bulbs in there and make it uniform, but I don't like that look, plus it's illegal. I don't want to give cops a reason to screw with me. The trim is one of those things you wouldn't know unless I pulled up against another G and compared the two. The reduced trim line makes the upper beltline of the car look a bit more aggressive and less fat. As for the lip on the Nismo bumper, a non-G enthusiast wouldn't know the difference unless I pointed it out. It looks OEM. I do need to get a new one though because I want to route the sides better and pull them further back by about 2".

Quote: Good job! Paint looks new for an 03 as well.
Thanks for the comments on the paint, but I must admit that I had just done my annual clay bar, paint clean, polish, and wax moments before the pictures. This will be my last black car. Too much work to keep the paint in decent shape. With Nissan paint, it's a battle.

This is my 4th black car. Next one will be black too. Even with working 50+ hours a week and three young kids it's well worth it for me. But I like cleaning my car.

+1 for Black paint. The looks are worth the effort. I just wish Nissan offered it's black metallic on the G instead of just KH3. Black Metallic still looks as good, but without the need to constantly maintain it. (my old skyline had black metallic paint)
