The look what I bought thread
They are the awesome. Way cheaper using a dock and internal HDDs than buying external HDDs
^ That's what I thought, thanks! Just hope the transfer times are pretty fast. I see Amazon selling that Thermaltake one you posted for $38.
Stupid 3 year old Dell tower came with a 250/500 gb combo...need to move em out for a SS and a 2 tb plus if possible but didn't want to deal with moving files all over the place after removing the old ones.

Just built a new system. Only using one 500GB HD. I might pick up an SSD for the OS because everyone says it runs a lot better.
Those docks look nice calcul8.
I'm using an internal HD in an enclosure, but those docks look a lot more practical, since I have to use a screwdriver to swap these things out (on the external enclosure)
As for "what I bought"
On the right, compared to my old system

How useful is an SSD with the OS installed on it if I leave my computer on stand by instead of turning it off?
I rarely actually turn off my PC. I just leave it on standby. Someone said that kills my hardware faster (wth?) but the system was built in 2005 with no issues at all. Didn't even take the heatsink to add thermal paste and still runs cool lol.
