Joeb, bravo. Just bravo.

I choose the gtr 570cc for mine with basically the same goals, but if the injectors are good yes no harm being bigger!

are you using uprev then?

Yeah, I have an UpRev tune from being N/A. (278whp) Having the typical Stillen headers, Berk HFC's, Stillen intake, MREV2 and spacer, and the Borla cat-back, etc... So I have the license already.

I also bought (or thought I was buying) UpRev's Cipher for $100 shipped off eBay a while back. Turns out it was actually OSIRIS standard! With CIPHER I found I am running pretty rich WOT. I haven't check to see if the cable was properly unmarried or not as to flash eTunes.

Still trying to figure out if I am going to trailer her down to Texas (3-1/2 hours) or try and get a base tune from somebody to get me there... (still in work)

So far there has been no luck seeing how there are so many variables with FI. Nobody is willing to do it which is understandable. UpRev does not support FI eTunes either.

I just got a digital boost gauge in the mail last week. (silver to match) Here is a pic of where I want to mount it. I don't care for pillar gauges and I have Nav, so it cant go there and I do not feel like hacking up my ashtray... Gotta love my wife! I'm sure I will figure something out... Always do. Have to see it in person to make the final call.

I really wanted ATI's ePod, but its not for 06's because of the telescopic steering wheel.

What you guys think? My brother-in-law is taller than me and says it doesn't interfere with your knee/leg. Also, a shot of my headers before installation. Don't mind the underwear! lol!

I don't know Uprev, but if you can get a base map for it you can drive it in vacuum easily, just watch the AFR's.

The beauty of the Vortech is it stays out of boost until you go about 80%+ throttle (no vacuum), as such, will run like a N/A motor until you really tromp on the throttle.

Unless you plan to change the stock BPV included in the tuner kit, which I wouldn't advise considering you are running the base kit, there's no need to mess with it, it's a good setup.

I also dislike A-Pillar gauges for numerous reasons. I wanted something clean.
I also need (for myself) 4 things monitored, Oil Pressure, Temp, Boost, and AFR, this meant 4 gauges

I decided to get dual gauges from VEI systems which made for only 2 gauges, worked out great.

And Not an easy route, but I had no experience with bondo, etc, and was able to make this for my setup, something in sight, easy to check during normal speedo checks, and still inconspicuous enough. Just an idea, it's also nice because it moves with the tilt, etc.

Can't you leave the cog pulley belt off so you not making any boost and drive the car? I've installed several singLe turbos and twins and aslong as they don't get into boost they are fine driving to the tuners shop an hr away

That looks great! I like that a lot.

I will be sticking with Vortech's BPV. That's how it was intended to operate so best leave it alone. I actually contacted Vortech in regards to their BPV and the filter I've seen for it which led me to believe it was open under vacuum and had the potential to suck in dirt, debries and water when not in boost. We all know the placement of it isn't in an idle location if its open under vacuum... They schooled me on how it operates and that it is not a BOV and the fact that when it is open under vacuum it is venting or "BYPASSING" so nothing could get sucked in. The filter is to merely quite things down.

I thought about leaving the injectors and GT MAF out and having them throw them in before the tune. I've read you can install the Walbro and it will operate fine with the stock injectors and FPR.

I also got the plug and play adapters/connectors for the injectors so no cutting/splicing like I had to do with my Honda, so it will be a snap. (No pun intended)

As far as AFR's, My '06 has primary wide-band o2 sensors from the factory, so I use the CIPHER software and it displays it on the laptop. Not saying I will always have the laptop every time I drive, but that is the main reason I got the CIPHER as it was a cheaper alternative to a dual wide-band setup.

I did extensive research in picking the FI route I went. I really was hung up on the Momentum ST kit, but as you probably all know they are finished.

Again, I mainly wanted a safe and reliable FI setup. As many of us did, I looked into Stillen, but the cost per gain ratio was too high and the added expense of the required hood (which I do not like) turned me away from that kit fairly quick!

I love the simplicity of Vortech's V3 tuner kit. Self contained lubricating which requires no tapping or drilling and the added fact it doesn't use the engines oil either. Basically bolt on and go.

Although I spent less for the tuner kit -vs- the full kit, I did spend more on the whole setup. I do not care too much for FMU's, additional in-line pumps and piggy back ignition controllers. Many people find a tune on top of that setup is very beneficial anyways.

I understand what you are talking about as far as how the Vortech comes into boost much like a turbo. This was also was a factor in the decision. I know people debate how it makes less torque this that and the other, but the less torque I feel is another added benefit when boosting a high compression N/A engine that was never intended to be boosted. ESPECIALLY seeing how all my internals are and will remain stock.

Hopefully the oil cooler and added capacity oil pan will keep oil temps in check along with a KOYO radiator I plan on purchasing next month. (Decided to go with KOYO because its thinner and did not want any clearance issues with plumbing and belt changes.)

As far as the COG belt idea, I have also thought of that as well. It would ensure that I would not enter into any boost or even reduce vacuum for that matter.

Honestly, I have access to a car hauler and a truck. That is not a big deal. I just don't want to mess with trying to get her on the damn trailer. I could leave the front bumper off after the intercooler and oil cooler install for some additional clearance. (wish I had coil-overs) Use the slant in my driveway that's usually a PITA to my advantage and even deflate the trailers tires and refill if it comes to that.

I do know I am not paying for a flat-bed tow all that way! That is out of the question. lol!

I am sure I will figure something out.

To keep with the theme of the thread and liven things up a little, check out what me and my wife just bought yesterday. He will be ready when I get home! He is a 12 day old boxer pup.

Open to suggestions for a name. I was thinking Tyson?..
