The stock head unit is actually good since it has balance inputs, it's the amp that sucks. I've never done OEM integration so I'm not too clear how it works. If I had a Zapco DC Reference amp it would def be easier, plus I'll have all my processing needs with it. I'd love to try out JBL's MS-8 OEM integration, I heard it's supposed to be bad ***, but 900 bucks is a bit steep as well.

Nah... stock HU is crap... (on an 03 anyway) no MP3... disc changer is broken... eventually the entire thing will break... I don't really care if the unit has good sound quality with an amp, it's the build quality that's garbage.

Man, I still gotta go to a VIP meet here...wait, I been to one last year, forgot lol.

Some of those cars were from from VIP and 1 I would say is rice lol. I love the RL, I've always thought it would make a nice VIP styled car. The beetle looks interesting, I like it though.

Oh, lol. Didn't know that. I have the Bose, maybe that makes a difference. I really wish I kept my Alpine W200 and H701 combo, but sold it to put a larger down payment on the G. I really wish I didn't have to sell some of my other audio stuff. I LOVED my Zapco CK mids and tweeters...and sadly never got to use the Zapco C2k 4.0 and 9.0 amps, they just sat in my room and I had to sell

I've thought about cutting up the oem dash and converting it to a double din sized opening, but another issue i'm thinking about is the mounting of the head unit. not sure how that will work.

^You do know that the radio and A/C controls are on the same circuit board right?
So if you cut the oem dash, you still have to buy the JDM a/c controller.

Werd? Crap, I thought it was separate. That blows. It was an idea, but not one I was seeking, now I know for sure I won't go that route lol.

^Yeah, you're far from the first to come up with that idea.
I thought about doing it too, until I found out it wouldn't work.

There's a thread on it somewhere

Yeah that's where I saw it. Some guy with an IP coupe in San Diego had done it and I thought about it from there.

Yea I need to invest in a good double din. Mine crapped out and won't play CDs. I bought some cheap chinese one for 190 that actually looked and worked really good till the cds started getting stuck and not reading them. I'm playing USB though. I got like 600 songs but I miss watching music videos once in a while. @ Don pisto, out of those VIP cars I liked the black lexus GS with the sick stance toward the bottom, with the personalized plates.

you guys don't know what you're missing until you get ipod song/video input, bluetooth working perfectly, and reverse cam. You're gonna be like "why didn't I do this way earlier".

I already miss it. Had everything with my Alpine W200 when I had my accord...and even had an SNES hooked up.
