honestly i'm not a huge fan of boosted VQ DE's in general, it's an NA motor. more parts added just ends up being more weight and more things to break. i like that Vortechs can be Cali legal but hate the sound, like the sound of Stillen's SC but gains aren't great and hood is FAIL. i like TT because 2 smaller turbos will have a lot better response but their won't ever be a CARB legal turbo kit for our cars. rather just put the money towards an IS-F or doing a G37 w/Stillen SC(i like the simplicity of the kit). i've also been eyeballing a 993 911.

Mark,

Congrats on the cam install and other upgrades. The DE responds real nice to camshafts.

Your right about the headers, waste of time unless you running bigger cams. Shorty headers will still hold back your potential gains, far better than OEM manifolds.

You should deffinatly get a 993 turbo. The sexiest 911 imo.

yeah, PPE just released some LTH for the DE which look great and they're developing some half length ones w/integrated cats, that i'm really interested in.

That would be sweet to see on your car if you get it.

so you did get HR cam buckets. A chief tech from the nissan racing team told my mechanic while he was in school that you could gain 10-15hp from the reduced friction due to the DLC coating.

I have the same observations from my S1's the car just pulls now. The car even pulls hard in 4th gear. Idle is perfect.

The next thing on my list is 3.7 I have the 3.5 and transgo now.

nah, i asked my guy if he was gonna use the HR buckets, he said no. he said he he's been using some custom ordered one's but yeah, he said the DLC coating could add 10-15hp too. my 3.7fd+transgo setup is not for the faint of heart after cams, it can get pretty violent. it's almost like you can feel the car squat w/the shift, i'm just glad i have 275's on the rear.
