No problem Ilya

Guys, my lid is an oem lid with the integrated lip molded in, not the fiberglass version. Mine was used to create the mold for the fiberglass lids. Fitment should be the same. I'll see if I can get another lid in and do some test fitting again on my car to see if there is anything more that can be done that hasn't been done already

Alright guys, ive been doing bodywork for 13 years and i can usually make anything line up. If the latch is in the right position and pushed up as far as it can go on the decklid then its time to mess with the stricker. I just looked at mine. Pull the plastic cover off that has 2 plastic clips and pull up. There will be 2 6mm bolts that use a 10mm socket and take the striker out. Close the decklid, if it is able to go lower and all the lights line up and style lines then the striker needs to be lowered. The lower bolt has an elogated hole. The top bolt hole just need to be elogated down with a dremel and that will allow the stricker to be lowered. that should solve the fitment issue.

^ that is great info, I was thinking about messing with the latch, but the striker sounds like a more sound idea. I'll give my bodyman a shout to see if that's possible.

Since I'm sponsored, I'm also in contact with the Hikkatadori for a replacement. This is the very first production model so some issues have been addressed since then. I'll either fix this one or get a complete replacement, still up in the air ATM. I love the design though, so I'm sticking with this trunk.

Chris, I was just going to PM you to ask you that question, since I remember hearing your trunk was donated for the plug. It seems that fiberglass are so lightweight it needs "additional" adjustments to make them sit lower. our OEM trunk is really heavy compare to this piece, so I think that contributes to fitting as well.

I have to mess with the striker now, I really want to lower it a bit more. still talking to kris about it also.

I looked at my oem striker. It can go lower but one of the two holes needs to be elongated. Just take the striker out completely and see if the decklid will sit lower without it. If it can then lower the striker will fix the alignment issue.

So they used ur front and trunk to make the molds, now you just gotta get them to use your rear lip to make a Hikkadori rear lip.. So that i can be first one to rock it.

I was talking with G35xChicago via email and came to the same conclusion. The info/idea r1forever80 posted sounds like a solid fix. Thanks for that

I don't know if I want to give up more body parts just yet I think they are already working on it too so they might have a piece already

When you come get it, we'll do a test fit that day if you have the time Kenny. I'll give you the full run down then.
