dznuts did you just paint the chrome on the belt moldings? or did you get daring and paint the whole belt molding? Im probably doing mine this weekend and that chrome is so close to the rubber, even with fineline tape I fear a buildup.

Wow. Well when u do a all over color change by yourself u can shave yours. Lol. I don't mind the moldings. And I didn't want to have doors full of bondo because the doors don't have that good of support behind the skin. And the odds of it warping is high.

I taped off the rubber and just did the chrome. I used fineline. But I didn't paint them I just sealed them black. It turned out go. I didn't want to risk painting the rubber part due to it not sticking or flaking later.

+1

And without the moldings, it really looks like something is missing IMHO

Lol I'm not doing a color change so I have to deal with it. Plenty of ppl have shaved theirs and I haven't heard of any issues. But some ppl don't mind the moldings such as you so that's one less hassle. Looks great though

Im dreading the build up cause Im going bc/cc black. I wanted to get a spare molding and see how it looked if i used adhesion promotor and painted the whole molding. Even though I know it will stick Im always paranoid about rubber.

Also its funny when people say shave the moldings. Until they grab a welder and a long block and try it they will never know what a pain in the *** it is and how much work it is.
