BUMP, anyone? I don't recall anyone ever doing this. One of the main reasons why is because it comes painted from the factory. If you were going to mold it you'd have to repaint the entire lip again. If it didn't come painted and you had your car in the shop for paint I could see spending the extra little bit to get it molded.

i was thinking of molding my lip to the Nismo but decided not to cause i was afraid it would crack when ever I scraped.

Is that a regular occurrence with molded lips? I could see it happening very easily with an aftermarket one, I am wondering about the OEM one though because of its seemingly strong mounting design. I'm not disagreeing, just asking a question.

Same here. My local body shop said I shouldn't do it because it would crack if I scrape hard enough.

I didn't even consider the scrape factor when I posted earlier, somehow it slipped my mind, very good point. I got my rear bumper molded but not my sides because I didn't want my sides to crack when I scrape.

That's a legitimate concern. However, with the Nismo bumper and the 05/06 lip both being discontinued, perhaps we can get an 05/06 replica in FG, that way it can be glassed into a FG replica bumper such as the Hikkatadori (or vis)
That should be much less prone to crack.
