2003 G35 Intermittent Blue Smoke on Cold Starts (>4 days not running)

I am the original owner of a 2003 G35 with 111k miles. At 52k miles the short block was replaced due to a mysterious thrust & main bearing failures. The car is well maintained and I have used synthetic oil from day one. My current problem is that on occasion, if the car sits for a period of time, sometimes 3 - 4 days, there would be some lifter noise and blue smoke (oil burning) observed from the exhaust. I have taken a video of the event but the Dealer and Factory will not use the video as evidence to repair the vehicle. The Dealer must witness the oil smoking with their own eyes which I can understand. The only problem is that it is not consistent and will not happen every time. The car uses approximately 1/2 quart between oil changes and runs great.

This type of symptom normally points to the valve stem seal (s). The Dealer and Factory are trying to push this one under the rug considering the age and mileage of the vehicle and that only 300 miles are left on the Factory extended warranty. Has anyone had this problem and provide some suggestions on what to do. Can a compression and cylinder leak down test identify a problem with a valve seals? Trying to duplicate this issue at the Dealer is going to be difficult.

I had almost the same problem (minus the lifter noise) just one time after the car sat for about 5 days. Oddly though, that was months ago and it's never done it since, even though it's sat for a week on numerous occasions
